About God
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He is eternal and has revealed himself in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1, 26; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19, 2; Corinthians 13:13
About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God. He lived a sinless life and became the sacrifice through His death, by which all humanity could find its way back to God the Father. He arose from the grave in three days to demonstrate His power over death and sin.
Matthew 1:23; Matthew 16:16; John 14:10-30; I Corinthians 15:3, 4; Hebrews 4:14, 15
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit completes the Trinity of relationships: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is present, alive and active in the world to make humanity aware of God and the Son – Jesus Christ. The guidance of the Holy Spirit is to become the driving force of influence in the life of followers of Jesus Christ.
John 16:7-13; I Corinthians 2:12; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 1:13
About the Bible
The Bible is God’s historic yet present message to humanity. It was written by men and women under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the ultimate source of truth for Christian belief and life. Our founding fathers held to a firm maxim, “Where scripture speaks, we speak, where scripture is silent, we are silent.”
About Baptism
Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Our participation was directed by Jesus following His resurrection and is one’s public declaration of acceptance of Jesus as Savior.
About Communion
Communion or the Lord’s Supper is a visible and tangible reminder of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. It is also an opportunity for believers to feast on the mystical union between Christ (…this is my body broken for you and…this is my blood, shed for you for the remission of sins) and His church (Christians).
Our Purpose
The purpose of the First Christian Church is to bring people to Jesus Christ and help them to become fully committed followers, to the glory of God.
Our Vision
The vision of the First Christian Church is to be a lighthouse for people of all ages where they may:
